Our Vision Statement
At our church retreat in July 2009, one of our activities was creating a Vision Statement for our church. A Vision Statement can be thought of as a marketing tool... one way to begin a conversation about the UCC. It can be tried out for a year or two and then changed if desired. At the retreat we worked in small groups, each one coming up with a different statement. We then voted on our favorite and after a small tweaking and then approval by the Governing Board, this is what emerged:
THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST:
"OPEN TO ALL AND CELEBRATING GOD IN EVERYONE." You will see this on our bulletins, ads, e-news, etc. A committee of
Carol Jean Miller, Barb HarJu, Mike Casorio, Jack Freiner and Jenny Froyd are developing other ideas for its use. Suggestions are welcomed!
